PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• SR LAW (Aug 2016 - Present): At present, I am leading the team and managing the firm’s Islamabad office. The firm offers services in both contentious and non-contentious areas of legal practice with rich experience in multiple areas of law drawn from services rendered for different clients – local and international.
• OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR PAKISTAN (Aug 2014 – Aug 2016): I worked in the Islamabad High Court and assisted the Additional Attorney General for Pakistan.
• KUNDI & KUNDI (Aug 2013 – Aug 2014): I was an associate in the leading litigation firm in Islamabad.
• THE LAW & JUSTICE COMMISSION OF PAKISTAN (Aug 2013 – Aug 2014): It is an apex body of law reform in the country. During my time, I worked on proposals to amend; provisions concerning payment of compensation under the Fatal Accidents Act, 1855, provisions in Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 pertaining to rights of arrested persons and on how to make arrests, Muslim Family Law Ordinance and Rules made thereunder by introducing comprehensive package of reforms, to name a few.
• DAILY TIMES (October 2017 – Present): I write a weekly piece for the Daily Times. In the past I have contributed for the Express Tribune, The Nation, Pakistan Today and The Frontier Post.
• THE INSTITUTE OF LEGAL STUDIES (July 2017 – Present): As Lecturer, I teach Administrative Law.
• NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (July 2015 – August 2017): As Lecturer, I taught Corporate Law.
LEGAL CONSULTANCY
• I have handled assignments under the Constitutional Law, Company Law, Copy Rights, Labor Law and Administrative Law. In addition, I have worked on the following international projects:
➢ I was member of the team that advised ILO on the labor laws enacted by the province of Baluchistan, in particular, whether they are sufficiently compliant with our international undertaking.
➢ I was member of the team that assisted National Database And Registration Authority (NADRA) in relation to a contract for procurement of “Services for Scanning and Digitizing of Citizens Registration Forms and Delivery of Captured Data” awarded by the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, Government of Srilanka.
➢ I was involved in drafting and negotiating the contractual documents on behalf of NADRA pertaining to the “Systems Integration Services” provided by NADRA to the National Identity Management Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
➢ I worked on Gawadar-Nawabshah LNG Terminal & Pipeline Project under the Government to Government Agreement reached between the Governments of Islamic Republic of Pakistan & People’s Republic of China and subsequently handled litigation pertaining to LNG Terminal at Port Qasim.
➢ I was part of the team that worked on the agreement on behalf of NADRA for the provision of biometric system to the government of FIJI for their elections.
