The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, Peshawar in collaboration with Justice for Peace Project Pakistan (JPP) and Research Society of International Law (RSIL) organized Two-day training on Human Rights & the Criminal Justice System in Pakistan.
The objective of the training was to sensitize stakeholders on The Legal Framework of Human Rights in the Criminal Justice System: Torture, Arbitrary Arrest and Detention, The Right to Life, Due Process & Fair Trial,Rights of Women and Children & the role of Courts in safeguarding their rights.
Judicial Officers, officers of PHC, Public Prosecutors and Police officials from various districts across the province participated, in the training.
Inaugural address was presided over by Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, Ms Farah Jamshed and attended by members of JPP & RSIL. In her inaugural address the DG KPJA, welcomed the participants, and acknowledged the efforts of JPP & RSIL for collaborating with the session.
