Profile: 

Dr. Mazhar Ali Khan, Senior Research Officer at the Supreme Court Research Centre. Dr. Mazhar Ali Khan is an accomplished graduate of the International Islamic University, where he earned his LLB, LLM in Human Rights Law, and later, his PhD in Law.
Dr. Khan began his career as a Civil Judge in 2016, and since December 2023, he has been serving at the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Prior to this role, he served as Civil Judge, Judicial Magistrate, and Family Judge in Chitral, D.I. Khan, and Mardan. He has also participated in numerous trainings, conferences, and seminars, including the prestigious three-week International Visitor Leadership Program organized by the U.S. State Department on a theme “Modern Judicial Practices in the Newly Merged Districts”. During the IVLP, Dr. Khan had the opportunity to visit various federal and state courts, public offices as well as parliaments across multiple states in the United States, gaining valuable insights into their judicial and legislative systems.
Before joining the judiciary, Dr. Khan was a visiting faculty member at the Faculty of Sharia & Law, International Islamic University, Islamabad. Furthermore, he has evaluated over 15 LLM theses at the Department of Law, IIUI, as an external examiner.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Khan has authored eight extensive research articles covering various legal disciplines, including Public International Law, International Criminal Law, International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, International Investment Law, and Islamic Law. In 2019, he presented a research paper at a national conference on the Islamization of Laws in Pakistan organized by Shariah Academy, Islamabad. For this, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the then Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court.
